Paddy Jago has been named chief executive officer of Willis Re, in New York, the United States reinsurance unit of London-based Willis Group Holdings.

Mr. Jago, previously the president of the unit, succeeds Peter Hearn, who was promoted to CEO of Willis Re global operations in June.

John Ehinger will become president for Willis Re in the United States in addition to his current responsibilities as chief operating officer.

Mr. Jago joined Willis Re in the U.S. in July 2005 as president with a primary focus on increasing sales. Previously, Mr. Jago was CEO of North American Re for Aon Re, overseeing the property, casualty, and accident and health departments.

Mr. Ehinger joined Willis Re in September 1998 as a vice president, was promoted to senior vice president in 2000 and executive vice president in 2004. He was appointed managing director in 2005.
