Where you live depends somewhat on what attitudes you hold toward insurance issues, according to a new study.

A study published this week by the Insurance Research Council revealed that half of residents of coastal counties feel that policyholder and government subsidies for wind damage are unfair. But 63 percent of resident from noncoastal counties and interior states hold that view.

In like manner, 51 percent found subsidies for flood insurance through the National Flood Insurance Program to be unfair compared to 59 percent from interior counties and 61 percent from noncoastal areas.
