WASHINGTON--The number of job injuries that go unreported in the nation may exceed 50 percent, a researcher told a conference here today.
His comments came at a policy forum put on by the National Academy of Social Insurance, a nonprofit think tank.
Establishing an accurate number of injuries in the workplace, especially those that go unreported, is difficult, noted Les Boden, a professor at the Boston University School of Public Health. He noted that the information is important to ensure employers get an accurate picture of how safe their work environment is.
