There appears to be no last minute reprieve for New York City's insurer-funded Fire Patrol as the operation that works to protect goods and property in commercial blazes appears to be coming to an end Sunday morning.
Charlie Tedesco, treasurer of the International Association of Fire Fighters Local I-26, said the association has attempted for the past three days to get New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer to seek an injunction against the closure of the 200-year-old operation, but to no avail.
"If this is the way he is going to act as governor, I question casting a vote for him," a dejected Mr. Tedesco said.
