Kevin McGill, a former president of the Insurance Brokers Association of New York, has been named the managing director of Acordia insurance brokerage's New York office, the company said today.

Mr. McGill was previously with Willis brokerage, where he was responsible for its New York branch.

He was president of the IBANY in 1999 and served on the association's board of directors from 1997 to 2000. In 2001, he was elected to the board of directors of the Excess Lines Association of New York and is currently treasurer of the association.

Chicago-based Acordia is a subsidiary of San Francisco-based bank Wells Fargo & Company.
