Progressive Insurance's Drive and its direct market site have received a 2006 WebAward from the Web Marketing Association (WMA) for outstanding achievement in insurance Web site development.

The award names the best sites in 96 industries judged by the WMA. The WMA was founded in 1997 to set high standards for Internet marketing and Web site development.

The WMA judged more than 2,300 Web sites from 35 countries that were entered into the 2006 competition.

The judges scored Drive's Web site above the industry average in interactivity, design, content and copywriting.

Drive is the independent agent distribution arm for the Mayfield Village, Ohio-based insurer.

Other property-casualty insurance industry winners of excellence awards, according to the WMA Web site, included GEICO and Benfield Inc. GEICO en Espa?ol received an outstanding Web site award.
