Ex-Insurance Adjuster Charged with Fraud

In an article that appeared online for the Courier News, New Jersey Somerset County Prosecutor Wayne Forrest said that Anthony Doyle has been charged with one count of insurance fraud. The arrest was made after detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Unit discovered an inflated claim filed by Doyle. Doyle was formerly a public adjuster. Forrest stated that the investigation revealed that Doyle was hired by the Vernon and Carlene Spencer to file a claim on their behalf because of damage they suffered from a small kitchen fire in their home, which resulted in minor damage to a cabinet. Doyle evaluated their damage and sent a claim to New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company for approximately $15,600 in damages to the home. New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company conducted its own investigation of the fire at the Spencers’ home, which revealed that the fire resulted in approximately $700 in damage.
