The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America has partnered with Novato, Calif.-based Fireman's Fund Insurance Company to offer agents errors and omissions coverage.
The Alexandria, Va.-based association said the nationally endorsed program will provide liability coverage for agents--for example, protecting agents in the event they fail to provide a specific coverage or provide any coverage at all.
The program is beginning this month with a pilot program in five states. It will last approximately 60 days with a phased rollout to other states in this year's fourth quarter.
"We're pleased to introduce this program. Agents are faced with increasingly complex insurance products and services to offer to their policyholders, and we believe this coverage will be extremely beneficial," said Robert A. Rusbuldt, IIABA chief executive officer.
"Fireman's Fund is pleased to be able to bring our long experience and industry leadership in E&O coverages to the entire IIABA membership to help these agents and brokers make recommendations on risk solutions with confidence," said Charles Kavitsky, chief executive officer, Fireman's Fund, which is a member of Allianz Group.
