Summer is the time for the annual conventions of the state's many trade groups and the education conferences hosted by different organizations. In June, the Florida Association of Insurance Agents and the Florida Insurance Council held their annual events while in August the Florida Surplus Lines Association and the Florida Workers' Compensation Education Conference are slated to hold their annual meetings. Along with education breakout sessions and speeches by a variety of industry figures and well-known motivational speakers, the conferences are a time for people to visit, network, and get a feel for how the various markets are performing.

The FAIA held its annual conference at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center where a large crowd took advantage of the convention's many offerings as noticed by the wall-to-wall crowds making their way through the exhibit hall. While convention attendees focus on the opportunities offered by the large gatherings it also gives the organizations time to name their new officers and bestow awards. In the case of FAIA and FIC that meant a distinguished roll call of names.
