Willis Group Holdings, out of London, said it is expanding its operations in China with the opening of a Macau office, which will cater to the region's booming leisure and entertainment industry.
The new Macau office will be headed up by Sandra Ho, branch director and the former chief business officer at Luen Fung Hang, Macau's third-largest insurance company.
Willis said Ms. Ho is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English, and was educated in the United States. She has a bachelor's degree in business administration with a risk management and insurance major.
Macau is now a Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.
Roger Wilkinson, managing director of Willis Asia, said, “By opening an office in Macau, we are being receptive to our clients' needs in light of the fact that the city is becoming an economic hub.”
He said Ms. Ho has “extensive local experience and in-depth knowledge of Macau's employee benefits, property and casualty markets.”
Willis said it was recently appointed global risk management and insurance consultant for the China development bank.
