Rock musician Ted Nugent might be famous for his “Cat Scratch Fever,” but these days he's complaining of a different kind of health problem: severe immune system problems from exposure to mold and mildew in his home.

According to the Jackson Citizen Patriot, Nugent recently filed a lawsuit against Homeowners Insurance Company seeking more than $1 million in damages. Reporter Steven Hepker wrote that at issue was the insurance company's claim that it does not insure against mold or mildew. The attorney for Nugent, Bill Dobreff, also is reported to have said that water damage was further exacerbated from the investigative process, which he said was due to the fact that wet materials were allowed to remain in the house. Nugent is well known for his hunting practices and claimed in the article that his many animal mounts would need to be professionally cleaned or discarded.

Warner Insurance Adjusters, a provider of independent claim services, was also named in the suit because Homeowners had subcontracted the work to them. An attorney for Warner stated that he expected the company to be removed from the suit due to the fact that the dispute boiled down to a policy issue, not a claim-adjusting issue.
