The International Insurance Society said more than 20 senior executives with leading companies from various nations will take part in its meeting next month discussing insurance issues relating to regulation, risk management, ethics and catastrophic risk.
IIS' 42nd annual seminar will be held July 16-19 at the Westin Chicago River North Hotel in Chicago.
The group said its conference, “Insurance: Now and the Future–Profile for a New Age,” is expected to attract over 500 people from 55 nations.
“Our meeting will address topics of pertinence to insurers, from single market to multinationals from around the world,” said Patrick Kenny, president and chief executive officer of IIS.
“Risk management, transparent governance, and the resurgence of regulation and cross border standards have raised a host of new issues for the industry. Our meeting will bring these and other current issues before a broad group of executives to help in business management,” he added.
Ernie Csiszar, president and CEO of the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America, who will chair the event, said: “In today's global economy the financial impact of a catastrophe is felt in markets around the world. The meeting in Chicago will assess the industry's risk appetite and capabilities and will focus on exploring creative solutions to managing risk exposure.”
