In his new position with Brown & Brown, Anthony M. “Tony” Grippa will manage the company's original and largest retail profit center in its Daytona Beach headquarters. He also will continue as head of the company's Public Risk Insurance Agency (PRIA) operations in Lake Mary and Tallahassee, a post he has held since May 2005.

Previously, Grippa served two years as president of the Florida Insurance Guaranty Association, during a more than eight-year stint as executive director of the Florida Workers' Compensation Insurance Guaranty Association. His insurance career started at the Florida Department of Insurance; he also served as legislative director for the Office of the State Insurance Commissioner.

Grippa has been a Leon County commissioner since 2001, serving as commission chairman in 2003. He is on the board of directors of the American Society of Workers' Compensation Professionals and has served on the board of governors of the Florida Residential Property Casualty Joint Underwriting Association.
