Aon Risk Services International said it has opened a new office in Reykjavik, Iceland.

The Chicago-based insurance broker said the office will focus on large companies in a number of sectors such as the food manufacturing and food processing industry, energy and heavy industry, aviation, financial, retail, pharmaceuticals, high tech and telecommunication. The office will be the new coordination point for global retail business in the country.

Karl Eggertson was named chief executive officer. He previously coordinated Aon's Icelandic Business Development from Denmark.
