Howard Manton was named chief operating officer for Chicago-based Aon's Trade Credit Global Practice Group in London. The group is responsible for insurance protection against bad debt arising from insolvency.

Mr. Manton, who assumes a newly created position within Aon, will be responsible for the retention and development of multinational accounts, the firm said. He will oversee the group's servicing of accounts through its 400 trade credit professionals in 65 offices within 30 countries worldwide.

Prior to joining Aon, Mr. Manton was chief executive officer of Marsh Credit, Europe, and was responsible for its multinational business and Marsh's top-level relationships with its major credit insurers.
