Sun Life Financial's U.S. Group Insurance Division has introduced an online disability claim submission system that allows customers to file paperless claims while safeguarding privacy and confidentiality during the claims process. The system is designed to be flexible and allow either the employer or employee to initiate the online claim.

The system's flexibility can accommodate employers and employees who want to do part of the claim process online and part on paper. Systems behind the scenes match up the parts of each claim while keeping all medical information confidential. Once a claim is submitted, employers and employees can track the claim's progress online.

"This is another tool that enhances our leadership in disability service," says Scott Beliveau, vice president of multiline products for Sun Life Financial. "Our online claims system makes disability much easier for our customers to manage."
