Scott Storrer loves his BlackBerry. "For my job, without a doubt, the BlackBerry is invaluable for me," says the executive vice president of services operations and technology at CIGNA Corp.

In fact, Storrer relies on his handheld device so much he has developed "BlackBerry thumb," a repetitive stress injury due to excessive use. He wears a brace on his thumb to lessen the pain and eventually may need surgery.

On a positive note, however, Storrer says his injury has given him personal insight into the benefits of myCIGNA.com, the health insurance provider's portal technology for its members. Storrer's IT organization developed and supports the comprehensive Web-based tool.
