Beat Strebel has been named head of Swiss Re's Latin American unit. Based in Armonk, N.Y., he will be responsible for all of Swiss Re's property-casualty and life & health reinsurance business in Latin America.
He will report to Patrick Mailloux, chief operating officer of Swiss Re Americas.
Directly prior to this position, Mr. Strebel, 37, was the head of marketing for the Latin American Unit, where he was responsible for the p-c business in all Latin American countries. He joined Swiss Re in 1994 as an account underwriter for the Latin America area in Zurich.
