James Pettipas was named chairman of the Surplus Lines Association of California.
Mr. Pettipas is vice president of ECM Insurance Services Inc., a surplus lines brokerage firm headquartered in San Francisco.
Ceil Norton was elected vice chairman of the association. Mr. Norton is branch manager with Burns & Wilcox in Fresno, Calif.
John Edack was named secretary-treasurer. He is executive vice president with Arch Specialty Insurance Agency Inc. in San Francisco.
SLA of California is an organization of 1,200 surplus line brokers licensed by the state to negotiate and place insurance with nonadmitted carriers. It also is the official advisory organization to the California Department of Insurance.
