AdminServer, Inc., announced it has made available the AdminServer Suite running on the Sun SolarisTM 10 Operating System on SPARC. AdminServer worked with Sun in a Sun lab environment to port and test the AdminServer Suite, optimizing it for the Solaris 10 OS, including performance and scalability testing of the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) version of the AdminServer System.

While most systems predetermine the technology, AdminServer's commitment to open standards allows insurers to choose the technology that best suits their unique business needs. As the marketplace continues to adopt the latest technologies and the use of rules-based systems continues to proliferate, the need for highly scalable hardware and software will become even more critical to insurers.

"With the focus on reducing time to market of new insurance products under rapidly changing market conditions, there is an increasing demand for flexible, out-of-the-box, and open-standard hardware and software solutions," says Stephen Borcich, vice president of partner marketing, Sun Microsystems. "The AdminServer Suite on Sun's SPARC hardware and the Solaris 10 OS, and soon-to-be available on Solaris10x64, provides an optimal solution to the insurance industry. AdminServer is a valued partner to Sun in this market, and this will provide significant cost and utilization benefits to AdminServer's customers."
