The Big “I” National Young Agents Committee (YAC) will add a second meeting for its members this year. In addition to its annual gathering in Washington, D.C. it will convene in New Orleans as well.
The Washington, D.C. conference will be held in conjunction with the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America's National Legislative Conference.
At the Legislative Conference independent agents have the opportunity to meet with their elective representatives and discuss insurance issues that most concern them today. The YAC and IIABA Washington events will run April 23-29.
As in the past, the YAC will host seminars geared specifically to young agents, including a first-timers reception, the Young Agent Attendee & InsurPac Chairs Luncheon, two hospitality events and the President's Panel Breakfast with IIABA leadership.
The YAC committee is offering two $300 scholarships to each state to assist young agents who have not previously participated in the National Legislative Conference to attend the event.
At YAC's Sept. 8-10 New Orleans meeting the group will present a Young Agent Leadership Institute session at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.
The YAC said the event will feature two distinct tracks for leadership development. One will be for attendees aimed at revitalizing young agents programs and the other for those with established programs.
Those who attend can participate in training sessions on topics such as membership development, communications, projects/events and political involvement.
IIABA said the sessions will provide insight into the latest technology trends and present the opportunity to network with peers and IIABA leaders to develop new ideas about agency management and personal development.
