EqeCat, a risk modeling firm, has revised its WorldCat Enterprise, version 3.7, which includes model updates for earthquakes and hurricanes in the United States, as well as Belgian earthquake modeling technology.
The upgrade to the catastrophe modeling software incorporates recent scientific and engineering research, as well as insurance claim data. Enhancements to the EqeCat U.S. Hurricane model include changes in frequencies and severities, and the incorporation of new scenario events, which take into account the results of the 2004 hurricane season. In addition, WorldCat Enterprise incorporates data to account for the 2004 Pacific typhoon season.
