AIG Excess Casualty, a division of American International Group, has launched an online database of claim histories designed to serve as benchmarks for particular liability types, industries, or limits.
The archive contains 2,000 high-cost claim examples in excess of an insured's primary liability coverage from 1988 to 2004. Sorted by liability type and industry, insurance buyers and brokers can use the information provided to assess the kinds of claims prevalent in a particular industry, potential liability exposure, commercial umbrella policy limits of defendants, and information about what triggered the claims.
The archive can be found at www.aigexcesscasualty.com.
