Brown & Brown Inc. said it has acquired Kokomo, Ind.-based insurance agency Timothy R. Downey Insurance Inc.

Terms of the deal were not released.

The Daytona Beach, Fla.-based insurance broker said Downey Insurance, with annualized revenues of about $7.4 million, specializes in providing insurance, risk management, administrative and related services to public and quasi-public entities throughout the State of Indiana.

The management and staff of Downey Insurance will continue to operate at their current location as a stand-alone operation of Brown & Brown Public Entity Services, the broker said.
