The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America said their annual conference will include a technology use workshop to enhance profitability and help agent marketing, sales and management functions.

The event will be co-hosted by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York and the Agents Council for Technology (ACT) on Sept. 11, during the IIABA annual conference in New York.

IIABA's meeting will be held Sept. 10- 12 at the Hilton New York & Towers.

The first part of the co-hosted workshop is "Enhancing Your Agency's Sales & Marketing Effectiveness." It will discuss how agencies are using specific business processes and technology tools to enhance sales, marketing and management functions in their agencies.

The second part, "Five Steps to a Better Agency Bottom-Line," will involve a panel discussion among agents, carriers and vendors on how to implement new business processes and technologies to enhance profits.

IIABA said the discussion will focus on the benefits of the latest real-time interfaces, improved downloads and paperless strategies to drive agency efficiencies and enable more productive sales and service contacts.

The convention will also feature continuing education workshops, networking events, and a product and services show.

Registration for the conference is available on the Web at www.independentagent.com., or at the Convention and Meetings Department at (800) 221-7917.
