Swiss Re executive vice president Walter Kielholz is among the insurance industry leaders who will be inducted into the Insurance Hall of Fame next month in Hong Kong.

The International Insurance Society Inc. announced it also will honor D. Ignacia Hernando de Larramendi (1921-2001), former chairman of the MAPFRE Corporation of Spain, and Sir William Meredith (1840-1923), creator and founder of the Workers Compensation System of Canada, at the July 11 event.

Also honored in Hong Kong will be Dr. William Haddon (1921-1985), the first director of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety in the U.S.

The Insurance Hall of Fame honors 114 laureates from more than 20 countries and was founded in 1957. It is located at the University of Alabama.
