MS/B Debuts Valuation Tool For Luxury Homes
NU Online News Service, Feb. 4, 11:34 a.m. EDT?Marshall & Swift/Boeckh (MS/B), a provider of building cost data, technology and services to the property insurance market, has introduced its new RCT High Value estimating tool.[@@]
According to Los Angeles-based MS/B, RCT High Value "includes thousands of high value material selections and building methods, offering the power and flexibility to generate accurate, localized evaluations for all high-worth homes of all ages across the United States and Canada."
Peter M. Wells, executive vice president of MS/B, said the high-value home segment "is increasing dramatically? These special homes present significant risks to a profitable book of homeowners business if they are not valued properly."
The new product, he added, "has the data and technology needed to appropriately address the architectural design challenges, luxurious materials, and the wage rates of the master craftsmen required by high-value homes."
RCT High Value can evaluate residences with up to nine wings, and provides scalable superstructure subcalculations and a comprehensive list of attached and detached structures, the company said.
The company declined to provide pricing information.
