Tech Impact On P-C Insurers Set For CPCU

NU Online News Service, Aug. 11, 9:10 a.m. EDT--IBM will make a special presentation on the use of technology in the property-casualty insurance industry at the CPCU Society's 60th annual conference.[@@]

The meeting will be held Oct. 23-to-26 in Los Angeles.

On Oct. 25, Daniel M. Yellin, director of software technology and an IBM "distinguished engineer," will lead a presentation on some of the latest changes in technology affecting p-c insurance operations.

Mr. Yellin will specifically discuss:

? User-friendly translation of changes coming in core technology, and the impact on p-c insurance industry operations.

? Privacy and compliance issues for insurers in the 50 states.

? Disaster recovery plans for business continuity and workforce management.
