AJG Acquires Edwin M. Rollins
NU Online News Service, April 23, 3:52 p.m. EDT?Itasca, Ill.-based insurance broker Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. announced the acquisition of Edwin M. Rollins Inc. of Charlotte, N.C.[@@]
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1946, Rollins is a managing general agency consisting of 27 employees. It provides excess and surplus lines and related products on behalf of independent insurance agents and brokers in the Southeast. Rollins specializes in the placement of transportation-related lines of insurance.
Edwin M. Rollins Jr., James R. Brooks, James W. Proffitt Jr., the principals of the agency, and their associates will continue to operate in their Charlotte location under the direction of Joel Cavaness, president of Risk Placement Services Inc., a subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
