BTE Technologies, Pinnacol Ink New Pact
NU Online News Service, Feb. 12, 11:01 a.m. EST?Pinnacol Assurance, a Colorado workers' compensation carrier, said it had signed a contract to use BTE Technologies' Web-based claims tracking system.[@@]
The financial terms were not announced, but a spokeswoman for Baltimore-based BTE said the cost was based on per-claim usage.
BTE, a provider of injury cost-reduction services, physical rehabilitation and therapy equipment, said the Web-based service facilitates the flow of real-time information between multiple parties on a workers' compensation claim.
Pinnacol, based in Greenwood Village, Colo., formerly used the Web service through Hanoun Medical Inc., the predecessor of BTE, which was formed this January with the merger of Hanoun and Baltimore Therapeutic Equipment Company.
Under the new agreement, Pinnacol will utilize BTE's OscarLink Web-based service, which is used to link health care providers, employers, medical case managers and claims adjusters. The OscarLink service allows users to track and authorize patient referrals, submit and review medical reports electronically, and create and transmit work status reports.
