NU Online News Service, Oct. 17, 10:46 a.m. EDT ? ePolicy Solutions has established a technology development facility in India that the firm said will improve its ability to provide technology answers to the insurance industry.

The technology solutions provider for insurance companies said it has established a development facility agreement with Mastek Ltd., of Mumbai, India.

Mastek is a $76 million global information technology company providing customized solutions to corporations around the world, said ePolicy.

In an interview prior to the announcement, Geoff Smith, executive vice president and chief operation officer for ePolicy, told National Underwriter that the partnership gives the Torrance, Calif.-based firm greater ability to develop quality solutions at a quicker pace than ever before.

The firm has another location in Wrentham, Mass.

ePolicy, Mr. Smith said, develops the technology that allows companies to bridge their legacy systems to current technology demands, primarily dealing with the Internet.

The focus of ePoilcy's mission, he noted, is to provide technology solutions tailored to the client's demands and needs. The solutions extend to insurance agents and brokers allowing Web-based policy administration to document issuance, including rating, quoting, cancellation, reinstatement, endorsement and more.
