Allstate Independent Agent Head To Retire

NU Online News Service, Oct. 24, 11:12 a.m. EDT?Ernest Lausier, 58, president of Allstate Ivantage Group, the company's independent agent distribution channel, will retire at the end of the year, the company said.

A spokesman for the Northbrook, Ill.-based insurer said Mr. Lausier would retire on Dec. 31 after leading the division that was once CNA Personal Lines through the transition with Allstate.

Ivantage, which covers the Encompass Insurance and Deerbrook Insurance Company brand names, will continue operating through independent agent channels, said Michael Trevino, company spokesman. The division will be lead by Doug Wendt, currently vice president for Allstate Midwest region office.

Mr. Lausier joined Allstate in 1999 after the company acquired the business from Chicago-based CNA. He was named president of CNA Personal Lines in 1997.

He joined CNA as a management trainee in 1969.
