Brown &Brown Enters Sports Niche
NU Online News Service, March 18, 12:55 p.m. EST - Daytona Beach, Fla.?based insurance broker Brown & Brown Inc. said it is stepping into the sports and entertainment world with the acquisition of Entertainment & Sports Insurance Experts Inc. (ESIX).
The firm announced today that it acquired the Atlanta-based agency that specializes in providing insurance products and services to the professional and amateur sports and the entertainment industries.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. ESIX, with annualized revenues of approximately $1.25 million, is a commercial property-casualty insurance agency providing insurance products and services to individuals and businesses.
Mike A. Price, president of ESIX, will continue to manage the agency along with Kelly Price and their staff. The agency will operate under the ESIX name as a stand-alone business unit within Brown & Brown.
