Agents Speak Out On Tech Issues

Q. Do you think the ASP model makes sense for your agency?

Agency Technology on the Cutting Edge

Q. Are you optimistic that true SEMCI interaction will become common within the industry in the next two years?

"Companies need to realize that the ease of doing business is one of the top priorities of all agency owners. The companies that participate in SEMCI would see a huge increase in business compared to those that continue to fight SEMCI and try to reinvent the wheel on their own."

Nancy Miller of Byron, Mich.-based Blackmore-Rowe, commented: "Ill believe it when I see it! [There are] too many software vendors and companies with their own agendas at this time."

Charlene Partin Tucker, business manager for Bozeman Agency of Tifton Inc., Tifton, Ga., had a different view.

"My understanding is that there is a program out there already. Its called Transformation Station and it was developed by Ivans. Im an Applied Systems user at an independent agency, and I have access to it," she notes.

"However, a good many of the insurance companies are not buying into it," she continues. "It seems that they would rather [that we] use their proprietary programs, which means that we have to input and input and input."
