Boastick Named CSR Of The Year
The Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives and the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors have named Suellyn Boastick as the “2002 Outstanding CSR of the Year.”
Ms. Boastick is commercial lines manager and systems administrator at The Lewis Insurance Store Inc. in Champaign, Ill., and is a member of the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois, which announced the award winner.
Ms. Boastick began her insurance career in 1992, after graduating from Illinois State University with a Bachelors Degree in Management. She received her insurance license in 1994, and successfully completed the CISR program in 1996.
The “Outstanding CSR of the Year” award was initiated in 1991 to recognize the contributions of customer service representatives within the insurance community.
To qualify for the top state honor, candidates submitted an essay on the topic: “The Role of a CSR During a Hard Market.” Additionally, entrants “must have demonstrated commendable service to their agencies, their industry, and their community.” The only eligibility requirement for this award is that the candidate must be an insurance customer service representative, or have primary responsibility for insurance customer service duties.
Each state winner received a framed certificate and was eligible to compete for the national honor, which carries a $1,000 cash award, a gold and diamond pin, and a scholarship for the recipient's employer to any program offered by The National Alliance.
Additionally, as National Outstanding CSR of the Year, Ms. Boastick's name will be inscribed on a sculpture permanently displayed at the national headquarters of The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research in Austin, Texas.
The Societies of CISR and CIC are members of The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research, a 33-year-old organization that serves over 100,000 participants annually. For further information, visit www.scic.com.
Among the judges for the award was Sam Friedman, editor-in-chief of National Underwriter.
