National Underwriter Publishes Book To Help Risk Managers Handle Terrorism Threats
The National Underwriter Company's Professional Publishing Group has released a new book, “Business at Risk: How to Assess, Mitigate and Respond to Terrorist Threats,” to help risk managers build a strong safety and loss control plan in the post-Sept. 11 environment.
Co-authors Donald L. Schmidt, senior vice president, managing consultant and operations manager within the Risk Consulting Practice of Marsh Consulting, and Kevin Quinley, senior vice president of risk services for MEDMARC Insurance Company, “lay out a practical game plan for managing the risks of major terrorist threats, including chemical, biological and radiological weapons, and cyberterrorism,” according to NUCO, parent company of this publication.
“There is no One-Minute Risk Manager for Terrorism or Ten Steps to Protect Against Terrorism,” the authors explain in the books introduction. “Each solution or set of suggestions must be adapted, customized and tailored to the needs of each particular organization.”
The book covers the five key phases of risk management–assessment, mitigation, response, recovery and financing risks–with each chapter including supporting charts and checklists.
The book is available from NUCO for $42.95 by calling 1-800-543-0874 or by visiting www.NationalUnderwriter.com.
