NU‘s ‘Shields’ Failed

To The Editor:

I agree 100 percent with Ara Trembly’s “Technology Enabled” column in your April 15 edition (“In The High-Tech Battle To Protect IT Systems, Our Shields Are Failing,” page 49). However, the problem I have is with the “Star Trek” photo accompanying the column. It is incorrect given the scenario and caption used.

The picture shows the “Enterprise D,” which Capt. Kirk never commanded. In addition, during that timeline with the “Enterprise D,” the Federation and the Klingons [which Mr. Trembly had facing off in battle] were allies. His column’s point [that firms are failing to adequately upgrade their data security systems to fend off hacker attacks] is well-taken, but the photo illustrating his Star Trek analogy shows the wrong Enterprise.
