Accounting An Issue For Mutuals
NU Online News Service, Nov. 18, 2:59 p.m. EST?Tough audit controls required under the new federal Investor Protection Act will impact mutual insurers as well as publicly held companies, a legal expert advised an insurance industry forum last week.
Robert Michels, a partner in the litigation department of the Chicago law firm Winston & Straw, gave that counsel at the Corporate Governance Seminar held by the Alliance of American Insurers and KPMG in Chicago, Nov. 14.
