NeighborWorks Lists Symposium Items

NU Online News Service, Aug. 1, 12:30 p.m. EST?Preventing mold growth from water intrusion and credit scoring will be among the topics at the NeighborWorks National Insurance Task Force Annual Insurance Symposium next Wednesday in San Francisco.

Highlights of the event at the Hilton Hotel will include:

Introduction of a water intrusion/mold prevention pilot, which will provide homeowner education on preventative measures against water intrusion that leads to household mold, and provide grants and loans to low-income homeowners to make repairs and upgrades to their homes to guard against water intrusion.

Release of NITF's report and recommendations on their experience on the issues with insurance scoring.

A commercial lines panel discussion on insurance challenges faced in multifamily housing.

A keynote address by Joe Clark, former school principal and subject of the Warner Brothers film, "Lean on Me." Mr. Clark will share his message that we can create safer, more productive communities by focusing on youth, making America's future leaders better citizens and better people.

Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation, based in Washington, D.C., is a public, nonprofit organization established in 1978 to expand affordable lower-income housing opportunities through the NeighborWorks network. The NeighborWorks? network is a collaboration of more than 220 nonprofit groups.
