New Claim Estimating Tool Web Course
NU Online News Service, June 7, 12:01 p.m. EST?A Wisconsin firm said it is offering what it describes as the first fully interactive, Web-based training application teaching adjusters how to use property claims estimating technology.
Marshall and Swift/Boeckh of New Berlin, Wis., a provider of building cost data and estimating technology for the property-casualty insurance industry, said the new service is called IntegriClaim Web-Based Training.
MS/B said the Web-based application gives claims professionals an alternative to classroom training programs that take time away from the field.
MS/B training product developers Lucretia Payne and Eric Arnold, who spearheaded this new project, also announced that MS/B will build on this program with a series of Internet training courses covering a wide range of services for the insurance industry.
Bob Crine, president of MS/B, said, "We have finally solved the inherent difficulties in group seminar-type training for property claims systems. Our Web-based courses allow users to enter the curriculum at their appropriate levels, progress at their own schedules, receive feedback and remediation based on their unique situations, deal with user volume spikes more seamlessly than ever before, and save the time and cost of travel, classroom time, et cetera."
The company said IntegriClaim Web-Based Training allows round-the-clock access so users can self-direct their own training schedules.
MS/B said the program offers a fully interactive design that actually simulates the IntegriClaim estimating software, voice-over and text instructions to accommodate different learning styles, pre- and post-tests, and six months of unlimited access.
Individual users and their managers can measure and track training performance to assure that each participant is making satisfactory progress in skill attainment. Pre-tests assess user needs and lesson plans, and post-tests assess competency after completion of each lesson.
Users have access to the course for up to six months and must pass the final exam to pass the course. MS/B certifies students who pass the course as competent users of IntegriClaim, the industry's leading claims estimating system.
The course consists of 22 lessons of approximately fifteen minutes each. Users must download a free 3.030K Macromedia Authorware plug-in, which can be accessed from the IntegriClaim Web-Based Training log-in page. Sound cards and speakers are recommended, but not required.
MS/B provides unique, comprehensive support for IntegriClaim Web-Based Training with technical support from MS/B's team of professional technical support staff, and also offers live chat capability with an experienced IntegriClaim Estimator trainer.

A spokesperson for the company said there is a sliding scale of price based on the number of employees at a firm. For individual users the cost is under $500.
