N.J. Expands Auto Web Information
NU Online News Service, March 19, 11:09 a.m. EST? Consumers in New Jersey can now obtain detailed price comparisons for auto insurance rates on The New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance's Web site.
The rate comparison function is part of a series of Internet enhancements announced yesterday by the department. The new section of the department's Web site allows consumers to compare rates in their own towns simply by entering a ZIP-code. It also provides money-saving tips and answers frequently asked questions on general insurance issues.
The new site is located at www.state.nj.us/dobi/filings.htm.
Also posted on the site is a comprehensive list of regulatory actions taken since the beginning of the year. The list includes actions on insurance company licensing, fines and restitution, and recent community outreach activities. That information is located at www.state.nj.us/dobi/dobiactivity.htm.
Newly-appointed Banking and Insurance Commissioner Holly C. Bakke said in a statement that the department is working to make more information available to the public and improve the level of service. More such announcements are forthcoming, she said.
