Clapp Gets Insurance Investment Banking Post
NU Online News Service, March 21, 10:47 a.m. EST?Investment banking firm Sandler O'Neill & Partners in New York said it has hired Gregory Clapp as managing director for the firm's insurance investment banking practice.
The company also announced its third annual insurance industry investor conference will be held Sept. 24 in New York City. More than 20 companies are expected to be present, the company said.
Last year's Sandler O'Neill insurance conference was cancelled after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11.
Mr. Clapp was previously with JP Morgan Chase, where he was a managing director in the insurance practice.
Sandler O'Neill said Mr. Clapp will work with the insurance investment banking team to provide mergers and acquisitions advice and to raise capital for insurance, reinsurance and insurance brokerage companies.
