Broker & Tech Team Offer Safeguards
NU Online News Service, Feb. 5, 3:16 p.m. EST?Global insurance broker, Marsh Inc., and GenuOne, Inc., a security technology solution provider, announced an agreement to jointly provide customer risk solutions.
Under the joint agreement, the two firms said in a statement, clients will be able to gain access to technology products that will provide operational safeguards to identify and prevent product and technology abuses, and insurance programs to protect against the financial implications of such incidents.
Marsh, in New York City, said it could arrange insurance products such as trademark enforcement coverage and indemnify companies for the cost of litigation against individuals or businesses that infringe upon U.S. trademarks.
In addition, the firm said, cyber risk insurance solutions can be written to protect against a number of e-business risks, including loss of data caused by hacking, programming attacks and viruses, as well as liabilities associated with Internet commerce.
GenuOne, headquartered in Boston, said with the implementation of its authentication and tracking systems it can help control products and intellectual property from counterfeiting and gray-market diversion through the Internet.
