NetStudy Partners With PTS, Adds Courses

NU Online News Service, Jan. 8, 1:59 p.m. EST? NetStudy of Northbrook, Ill., an online continuing education service for insurance professionals said it is expanding its content and courses by forming a partnership with another education firm, Professional Training Services, Inc. of Palatine, Ill.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. As a result of the merger, NetStudy said it will add more than 50 new courses to InsuranceStudy.com, NetStudy's flagship product that leverages Internet technology to provide complete online courses, exam delivery and real-time insurance certification.

"We are excited to include PTS into our vision of easing the delivery of tests and certification to insurance professionals across the nation," said Ed Zurek, president of NetStudy.

PTS, Mr. Zurek said, has developed an outstanding reputation by designing and deploying training programs for professionals for many industries. "Their particular expertise in the professional designations for the insurance industry will improve our products and widen our customer base," he said.

NetStudy said the merger would be a gain for the company's potential customers who need to keep in step with continuing education deadlines and credits to retain their licenses.

The merger, the companies said, will allow NetStudy's current curriculum professional designation review courses to address the needs of Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultants (ChFC), Registered Health Underwriters (RHU), Registered Employee Benefits Consultants (REBC), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU), Associates in Risk Management (ARM) and Associates in Claims (AIC).

"PTS is eager to partner with NetStudy to fulfill our shared goal of revolutionizing the critical, but time-consuming process of obtaining CE credit," said Joel Weiner, president of PTS, who now assumes the role of chief knowledge officer for NetStudy.

In accordance with the agreement, the newly-added courses will be delivered to insurance professionals through NetStudy's modules. NetStudy allows users to take exams, track their earned credits and deliver results to state licensing agencies?from their desktops.

InsuranceStudy, a wholly owned subsidiary of NetStudy, is a licensed provider of continuing education in 40 states.

The companies said PTS professionals will expand the NetStudyhelp desk and customer support area for NetStudy.
