Gallagher Reports 35% Increase In Income

NU Online News Service, Jan. 25, 3:27 p.m. EST?Itasca, Ill. ? based insurance broker Arthur J. Gallagher & Company reported that net income for 2001 increased by 35 percent.

For the twelve months ending Dec. 31, 2001, the firm said net earnings rose $32.3 million from $93 million in 2000 to $125.5 million in 2001.

In its report released Wednesday, the company said revenues increased 14 percent or $115 million from $795.5 million in 2000 to $910 million in 2001. Net earnings per share for the year rose 34 percent from $1.04 in 2000 to $1.39 in 2001.

AJG said it would increase its quarterly dividend payment from 13 cents to 15 cents per share of common stock.

The dividend will be payable on April 15 to shareholders of record as of March 29.
