AIG Protects From Sex Charge By The Maid

NU Online News Service, Jan. 22, 10:59 a.m. EST?Protection against a nanny's charge of sexual harassment is one of the elements of a new coverage package offered by American International Group.

New York-based AIG said its AIG Private Client Group division is offering employment practices liability coverage designed to protect individuals against allegations of sexual harassment, wrongful termination and discrimination made by nannies, housekeepers, gardeners, personal assistants and other domestic help.

AIG Private Client Group said it is pioneering the application of this coverage to address the employment practices exposures faced by high net worth individuals.

The employment practices liability coverage is offered automatically to AIG Private Client Group excess liability policyholders and provides limits up to $250,000 for settlements and judgements awarded as a result of employment-related allegations, as well as the full cost of defense, according to the company.

Coverage is provided for up to five employees, including part-time employees who work more than 15 hours a week. Policyholders also receive Employment CrisisFund, which provides up to $25,000 to cover the fees of an approved public relations firm, according to AIG Private Client Group.
