NAIC Blasted For Not Joining OSHA Ergonomics Rules Fight

To The Editor:

I applaud Steven Brostoff's "Capitol Insights" commentary regarding the National Association of Insurance Commissioners' lack of support for those opposing the ergonomics rules proposed by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration. (See NU, April 2, page 31: "Support For Fed Intrusion Could Haunt NAIC.")

The NAIC stuck its head in the sand on the OSHA rule and said in essence that a two-tiered workers compensation system shoved down our throats by the federal government is just fine by we, the insurance commissioners.
