AIG Benefit Solutions filled five leadership roles with industry veterans: Susan Kenny Cotter as head of product, Arthur Drake as head of transformation, Deanna Osmonson as head of compliance, Lorena Weaver as head of information technology and Thomas DeLuca as vice president, human resources.

Michael C. Davidson was appointed adjunct professor of agency excellence by The American College. He will assist students working to complete manangement and leadership designations in the Northwestern Mutual O. Alfred Granum Center for Financial Security.

Marsh announced the appointment of Andrew George as chairman of its global energy practice. He was previously head of Marsh's energy practice for Europe, a position now filled by Andrew Herring.

Craig Fundum was named president of commercial markets and customer industry segments for Zurich. His focus will be on Zurich's business strategies surrounding profit and growth with key customer groups such as financial institutions, real estate and healthcare.

Mergers & Acquisitions

CBIZ has acquired insurance broker Stoltz and Co. Stoltz and Co. is a Texas-based broker with expertise in the oil and gas industry and is an important step for CBIZ in expanding its national property and casualty footprint in addition to increasing its captive risk and energy market presence.

Public Entities of America (PEA) has been aquired by OneBeacon Insurance Group. PEA is a wholesale brokerage based in Atlanta that specializes in the public sector and will continue to operate independently, focusing on the placement of insurance for government entity clients.

Marsh & McLennan Agency, a subsidiary of insurance broker Marsh Inc., acquired Security Insurance Services Inc. Security Insurance Services offers property, casualty and employee benefits products to individuals and businesses in the Midwest, specifically those related to senior living, manufacturing and construction industries.

New Programs

Chartis has introduced a line of loss prevention services for yacht insurance clients. The program builds on offerings involving risk management for homeowners and collectors of valuables. The service focuses on common claim causes such as fire and crew member injury. The program also includes:

  • Crew member background checks
  • Hurricane prepardness reviews and planning
  • Contacts with best-in-class safe harbor, dry dock and repair facilities
  • Safety education materials.

Additional services exist for larger yachts, such as crew first aid training and several equipment reviews and evaluations to detect issues on-board.

Aon's Rent Protect program has been expanded to include the following U. S. states: Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina and Virginia. The program offers cash flow protection for landlords suffering from rental income losses following nonpayment of rent and covers legal expenses associated with eviction.
