The Kentucky Department of Insurance published a news release announcing the allowance of temporary emergency adjusters, per Kentucky statutes.

KRS 304.9-430(14) allows adjusters not licensed in the state to act as an emergency independent adjuster following a declared catastrophe. Following severe tornadoes, wind, and thunderstorms on March 15, 2025, the commissioner is allowing emergency adjusters to operate in Daviess, Jefferson, and Oldham counties.

Insurers must register their emergency adjusters by submitting Form 8307—Request for Unlicensed Adjuster Representing an Insurer to Adjust Losses Resulting from a Catastrophe to the Department. The registration will remain in effect for a maximum of 90 days unless extended by the commissioner.
