The New Hampshire Insurance Department (NHID) published a bulletin reminding insurers of their requirement to respond promptly to requests.

NH Rev Stat § 400-A:16 II states the commissioner may request documents and information relevant to an investigation from any individual or entity transacting insurance in the state. The individual or entity must respond within 10 working days. They can request additional time with good reason.

Individuals and entities have sometimes failed to respond in 10 days. Failure to comply with the statute may result in administrative action, including fines or being barred from doing business in the state.
